The city is always growing.
New homes are always being build.
In Istanbul I found four or five large building sites is none neighbourhood. Large towers are build, expensive apartments wit two pools on the complex ground floor. This should draw rich people to the area. To the developers of these projects the poor don’t matter.
The thing is, the poor live on these building sites. They were there first.

It’s said that Istanbul has approximately thirteen million citizens. These are the registered people. Some say that in reality the city harbours around seventeen million people. There’s no telling how many people there are exactly. The government has decided that the poor who live at the building sites are illegal citizens. They have to leave.
These people will be forced to leave their homes, so that the new homes can be build. These people have nothing, no way to start a new life somewhere else, but nobody cares.
